Beetz' character in the new film has vitiligo, a condition where melanin becomes inactive, causing patches of skin and hair to completely lose their pigment.
"It depends on how I am, but I feel very sexy when my legs are shaven, right? Where does that come from?" she says. “So I, sometimes intentionally, will let my body hair grow out so I don't feel beholden to that.”
Deadpool 2 flips Domino's appearance by keeping Beetz's natural skin tone and created a pale circle around her eye based on a condition that leaves melanin-deficient spots on a person's skin. Another big difference is the hair.
