I absolutely love the local recreation center! The staff here is always friendly and incredibly helpful, making every visit a pleasure. The facilities are consistently clean and well-maintained, which is a testament to their commitment to providing a great environment for everyone. I feel truly lucky to have such an awesome place in our community. Highly recommended! It's a great place to meet people and feels like a real community.
There are people who will complain, but this facility is just right for me. I would say this pool is more suitable for adults, without any accommodations needed. The pool is often unavailable, but I mostly go for the steam room. Children can be out of control, but they are just having fun. The lifeguards are very nice, just young and learning.
Men's washroom aren't maintained enough through the day. Open earlier during weekend would be nice. The outdoor pool needs to open earlier and closed later for the season like it use to.

Know before you go
- Visit during off-peak hours for a quieter experience at the gym and pools
- Be aware of potential pool closures during classes; plan your visit accordingly
- Consider bringing your own workout equipment if you have specific preferences due to limited options at the gym
- Advocate for more inclusive programs for adults with different abilities to promote diversity within the facility
Reviews
The Red Deer Recreation Centre receives high praise for its friendly and helpful staff, clean and well-maintained facilities, creating a welcoming community environment. While some reviewers mention minor issues like maintenance in the men's washroom or pool availability during classes, overall, visitors appreciate the amenities such as the steam room, small but sufficient gym with local radio music playing, and the generally quiet atmosphere. However, there are concerns raised about inconsistent treatment by lifeguards towards individuals with challenges or disabilities. Despite these issues, many patrons enjoy the pools' cleanliness and find it to be a great place to meet people.

Probably worth mentioning to people that you'll get kicked out from the pool decks even if you aren't using the pool when classes start, Bit of a waste of time for those who want to use the facility after work
Small gym, but pretty much everything you would need, unless you're a seasoned gym rat. I've never seen it busy, so that is nice. Clean, local radio music in background. Helpful staff at reception.
